EPF Investment In Bursa Malaysia As At 31 December 2013

Wonder where is your EPF money go? Here is the list of top 30 equity investments listed on Bursa Malaysia by EPF fund (as at 31 December 2013). You may want to have a look on these companies’s financial performance to see if your EPF money is actually perform well.

As you can see from the below table, most of our EPF money goes into 30 public listed companies and 15 of them are the components of FBM KLCI index.

What does this tell?

  1. When market is doing very bad and you see the KLCI index is going down for a long time, it is very likely that our EPF fund earning performance is affected.
  2. This also shows that the performance of KLCI index can easily manipulated by EPF fund. With the huge % share holding by EPF fund, the affect of buying and selling is quite significant.
