November 23, 2009 by Sze Hau Leave a Comment

Malaysia’s 30 Most Valuable Brands is a list compiled by The Edge Malaysia investment magazine for the week November 23 – November 29, 2009. 3 of the stock counters that I have are in the top 30 list (PBBANK – 1st, NTPM – 28th and DIGI – 7th), not too bad. I know I’m on the right path.

Below are the list of Malaysia’s 30 Most Valuable Brands:

Among the 30 brands, 8 brands are in banking industry and 3 brands (Alliance Bank, Premier and Bonia) are newly added to the top 30 list.

To qualify for Malaysia most valuable brands, a brand has to be public listed, or own by a company that is listed and must originated from Malaysia.

The most valuable evaluation includes financial analysis which forecast current and future earning; brand analysis, which measures how the brand influences customers at the point of purchase; and brand strength analysis, which determine a brand’s ability to secure on going customer demand, such as loyalty, repurchase and retention.

Also congrats to Public Bank being awarded the Malaysia’s most valuable brand. According to the managing director of Public Bank, Tan Sri Tay Ah Lek: “Malaysians trust Public Bank because of its solid financial position, prudent management and superior and long tack of record of financial performance.

Buy a copy of The Edge Malaysia to read the detailed reviews and interviews for each brand.
