Today is the first day Maxis being listed on Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). Shares of Maxis, which were actively traded, rose 40sen against its reference price of RM5. Today Maxis highest price is at RM5.50, lowest price is at RM5.20 and closed at RM5.42.
Maxis was the most active (the top volume) stock traded today. It seems that investors have a strong interest in Maxis on its listing. It’s traded volume is about 3 million lots. If we compare Maxis with all the stocks in KLSE, which had traded about 13 million lots, Maxis’s volume is about 23% of the total volume traded in KLSE today!
Did you get your Maxis IPO? I was thinking to buy its IPO but I was too lazy to get a new direct CDS account. I’m not sure the successful rate of application but I heard a lot Maxis IPO applications have been rejected. If you have got one, I think you can hold it for long term as it is a dividend play stock (75% of profits will be given out as dividend by Maxis).
And also, did you notice the stock number for Maxis is 6012 which is same as the initial of Maxis mobile phone number? Is Bursa Malaysia purposely give Maxis the number?
yup, i got the share but the listing price did not hit my number. let’s see how it is tomorrow. although i agree it is a good long term stock, it is kind of scary in the volatile market scenario!
