First time write in chinese 。哈:P Most Commented PostsOne Month One Google Adsense ChequeService Tax On Credit CardMake Money Online With NuffnangMaxis (6012) First Day [...]

Bought this counter around mid of June at the price of 0.55 but I have already sold it at 0.80. I think I have sold it a bit too early else I will gain more from this investment.

The reason I bought this counter is it's earning keep growing, debt becomes lesser (more cash), start giving out attractive dividend consistently and it is a MLM company (In my humble opinion, MLM is a very good business model).

Actually I planned to keep this counter for long time or until it rise more than RM1.20 the I will sell it. But don't know why I sold it at RM0.80+. Maybe due to reason seeing friends around keep buying and selling stocks recently. Hmm... I should be more discipline next time.

Well, for now. I think I will wait and see if I have any chance to buy this counter again at around September if it goes below 0.80. Never chase for high or low... Never catch the falling knife!

The next quarter financial report should be at the end of October this year.

The revenue of NTPM, which is one of my most favorite stock, has been maintained at the level RM90 millions plus for the last 4 quarters which is a good sign that the company sales are improving. Overall the financial result is satisfactory and acceptable.

The closing price for NTPM today was RM0.550. In my humble opinion, I think any price below RM0.590 is consider undervalued (with the PER of 10) and I will consider to buy if I have the money. I think it is going to move up a little bit for the next few days.

Note: This is just a personal view and does not make any call to BUY or SELL any stock.

According to The Star, FTSE Group, the index company, and Bursa Malaysia Bhd announced that Nestle (M) Bhd - Nestle (4704) would replace Parkson Holdings Bhd - Parkson (5657) in the 30-counter strong FTSE Bursa Malaysia KL Composite Index.

The replacement will take effect on on Monday, 21 December 2009. The reason why the replacement is made is not mentioned either in the article or the FTSE Group's announcement.

I think they replace Nestle with Parkson in FBM KLCI is because of the Nestle's stock price is much less fluctuate than the Parkson one. In this case, the FBM KLCI will look much more stable and also to prevent speculation on the index.

Starting from 1st June 2010, the sale of cigarettes in packets of less than 20 sticks will be prohibited, as notified by the Ministry of Health on 1st December 2009. Cigarettes companies are given seven months from now until May 31 next year to dispose of its stocks of cigarettes in packets of less than 20 sticks.

According to Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai: "anyone found guilty of violating the regulation was liable to a fine of not more than RM10,000 or imprisonment for a period of not more than two years.".

How will this news affect the profit of cigarette companies? Will the companies make less money? Will they need to clear their small packs of cigarettes as soon as possible with a lower price or make a repacking on existing stocks?

The sale of the two listed tobacco companies, BAT (4163) and JTINTER (2615), will be very likely to be affected by this news. What about their stock price? Since the news, the stock price of BAT dropped from RM46.10 (1st December) to RM42.42 (9th December), while the stock price of JTINTER (2615) remains steady at around RM4.90 may be due to its coming attractive dividend payout on 9th December.

The recent announcement posted by BAT (4163) on Bursa mentioned that the withdrawal of packs less than 20 sticks effective 1st June 2010 will have an impact on the financial results of the company in the coming financial year. Assuming all the customers will stay with their current brand, the company's operating profit from losing such higher margins is estimated at RM80.0 million for the next twelve month of withdrawal. This is due to the high profit margin or higher stick pricing for small packs.

How will this news affect the consumers or the smokers? Are they going to buy the bigger pack or stop smoking? I think the effect at consumer side is not much. I think the government action on disposing the smaller packs will not stop people from smoking. People who like to smoke will still smoke. Buy a bigger pack of cigarette packs does not mean they pay more on the item. Actually they are paying low price per stick. What do you think?

HSI (Hang Seng Index) felt 1075.91 to 21134.50 (-4.84%), SSE (Shanghai Stock Exchange) felt 74.72 to 3096.26 (-2.36%) and (DOW) Dow Jones Industrial Average felt 154.48 to 10309.92 (-1.48%).

Luckily Malaysia was having holiday due to Hari Raya Haji celebration on last Friday, therefore FBM KLCI is not affected at this moment.

What will happen to FBM KLCI on Monday? I guess there will be a lot of people panic selling their shares to have some cash on hand. I think I will wait and see and buy on dip on those good fundamental counters especially blue chips.

The revenue of Genting has been increased in the quarter but it's net profit is slight low if compared to the past quarters for the same revenue. Overall the result is acceptable and nothing is surprise.

Are you holding this counter? I'm holding a bit. I think I will hold further until the new casino at Singapore is opened and see if it will bring more revenue to Genting.

Malaysia's 30 Most Valuable Brands is a list compiled by The Edge Malaysia investment magazine for the week November 23 - November 29, 2009. 3 of the stock counters that I have are in the top 30 list (PBBANK - 1st, NTPM - 28th and DIGI - 7th), not too bad. I know I'm on the right path.

Below are the list of Malaysia's 30 Most Valuable Brands:

Public Bank - Banking

Maybank - Banking

CIMB - Banking

Celcom - Telecoms

Parkson - Retail

Resort World Genting - Leisure/Entertainment

DiGi - Telecoms

Astro - Media/Entertainment

Sime Darby - Property/Infrastructure

Petronas - Energy

Perodua - Automotive

Hong Leong Bank - Banking

Giant - Retail

Ambank - Banking

YTL - Property/Infrastructure

Malaysia Airline - Airline

RHB Bank - Banking

TV3 - Media

AirAsia - Airline

The Star - Media/Entertainment

JobStreet.com - Online Recruitment

Kurnia - Insurance

Premeir - Household Products

Sunway City - Property/Infrastructure

Bonia - Leather wear

Among the 30 brands, 8 brands are in banking industry and 3 brands (Alliance Bank, Premier and Bonia) are newly added to the top 30 list.

To qualify for Malaysia most valuable brands, a brand has to be public listed, or own by a company that is listed and must originated from Malaysia.

The most valuable evaluation includes financial analysis which forecast current and future earning; brand analysis, which measures how the brand influences customers at the point of purchase; and brand strength analysis, which determine a brand's ability to secure on going customer demand, such as loyalty, repurchase and retention.

Also congrats to Public Bank being awarded the Malaysia's most valuable brand. According to the managing director of Public Bank, Tan Sri Tay Ah Lek: "Malaysians trust Public Bank because of its solid financial position, prudent management and superior and long tack of record of financial performance.

Buy a copy of The Edge Malaysia to read the detailed reviews and interviews for each brand.
